Beyond the Shimmering Forest
This serene work is an exploration of the forest as much as a representation of it, a place recalled through sensation, memory and light. Expressive, layered brushstrokes trace the shifting rhythms of the landscape, suggesting the flicker of sunlight through a leafy canopy and the changing experience of moving through woodland. Warm, golden light filters across a richly textured ground of turquoise, copper and gold, where colour becomes fragmented and mosaic-like, evoking glimpses, reflections and half-remembered impressions.
Acrylics on deep edge canvas, the painting continues round the sides.
